Hi,

I'm looking for an upgrade to my HD558's and want something more immersive (i.e. more open soundstage and bass). I am also looking for headphones that will be good for most music genres. Currently I am veering towards the AD900X since it has reportedly better build, wider soundstage, and similar if not better bass response. Also, I am planning on using Razer Surround for gaming sessions. If there are other alternatives please let me know. Budget is preferably under $200-$250 max.

Thanks!

So we can assume your plugging the headphones into the on-board audio, of a Windows PC?

Have you looked into the Fidelio X2?

Yes, but I feel the Audio Technica's are more in my taste. Also, is the AD900Xs highs fatiguing?
I own the ATH-A900X (closed) headphone and found it to have decent bass, but i would expect the AD900X to have a lighter bass.
So do not expect a lot more bass switching from the HD558 to the AD900X, might only be a slight improvement.
Soundmagic HP200 headphone have a good amount of bass.

So is it best to just stick with my HD558 or go with HP200?
