I have the GR07 detachable cable edition, I have used others variations of the gr07 too I like them but I want something with a wider soundstage.

I listen to mostly rock and metal, some hip hop. In the past I have tried the V-Moda M80 on ear and I loved the way those sounded but I am not sure I can do on ear or over the ear due to tmj. I had to send those back because it was uncomfortable, if I can somehow get that sound in an IEM it would be perfect.

Realistically I would like to spend no more then $250-300 but depending on the IEM might go up to $400

Any recommendations?

Sony mdr-ex7750 or ex1000. Since you like GR07. These should offer similar sound signature and they have wide soundstage.
