I really like the sound of the Creative EP-630, but unfortunately they always end up breaking in under a year. Also they sound quite high pitched and generally unpleasant are really high volumes. But still, I really like the clearity of the sound, and was wondering what sort of headphones have similar sound but are a step up in overall quality? I was thinking of getting the JVC HAFX1X, but I had the opportunity to try it out and I thought they sounded awful compared to the less expensive EP-630. It may also be helpful to note that I disliked the sound of the UE 220s and Shure SE110s as well.
Would greatly appreciate some assistance in finding a pair that would suit me, knowing that I can spend up to $50, and they should be available to the UK. Thanks!

BUT if you can go a bit higher ... then the ATH-CKM500

Thanks for your recommendation. The SHE ones you recommended all seem still quite low end, I wouldn't imagine them being any better than the EP-630. And the ATH-CKM500 I can only find on ebay, and they're a bit expensive.

Have a go at the Etymotic MC5s.

50 bucks and worth it.

You will also want to roll some green acoustic dampers into them too.

Cheers, Jim
