Hi folks, relative newbie here. I have been lurking for a while with some minor posting. I recently narrowed my selection to a pair of Freq's but found out late that they have suspended operations. So I need some customs. I much prefer a one piece model, as my plugs twisting on the shure's annoys me.
Aside from the one piece, isolation for subway riding is absolutely required. I would much prefer more bass and MUCH smoother treble, with less high freq. detail/emphasis. Is i get older im seem ultra sensitive to sibilance and want to avoid any sibilance at all. I dont mind a colored or euphonic approach. Budget is flexible but id like to keep it sub $500, but since I would also like to get a pair of custom "concert earplugs" a visit to a NYC audiologist is probably required. So to sum up:
1) Upgrade from EC4s
2) Custom, one piece preferred
3) Isolation
4) Lack of sibilance, with a bit more bass punch
-Livewires- is this really an upgrade from the shure's with custom aftermarket plugs
-New Sleek Customs
-Westone custom equivlent to a UM2
-Hearyourself
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
