Iam looking for new pc sound card and want to replace my Xtreme music card for headphone use only. Right now iam torn between X-Fi Titanium HD and Asus Essence ST. Please help me which card is clear winner (shows more Details and power the high impedance IEM, Headphones).

that's the one i'm upgrading to! it's got some amazing reviews out there and the clarity it supposed to be surreal, i'm buying one this week :)

Both cards are excellent sources and have very close specifications.  The DAC chips on both cards are from the same family and they have similar opamp layouts.  You can use the opamps to tune the card to your personal taste.  I think you would be happy with either card.
To note though, the TitanHD does not have a built in headphone amplifier so if that is a requirement of yours, you might want to look at another card or an external amp to go with the TitanHD...
