When I arrived here, I just wanted a simple headphone amp.....

A month later, I have the following in the mail:

LD DAC_I
LD MKVII+ Amp
Balanced cables
HD600
Musiland 02
Solder wire
XLR 4-pin terminator to solder on
HD650 cable

h8 h8 h8

Is it at least going to sound good?

Update:

HD600s arrived

Just listened to a Frank Sinatra CD on the HD600s stock with my Xonar D2X card driving a LD MKIII amp...

I want to cry...wow. Just wow. Murders my 595s.

On the other hand, my Linkin Park MP3 sounds like ****...

If you really just spent all that money, you should have a pretty good idea of what it is going to sound like. As good as one could describe sound over the internet anyway.

Is it a balanced setup? For $1,000?

And congratz on your purchase

You remind me of myself. I just simply wanted to find a cans to replace my lost iPhone earphone (at that time I was young, happy and always smile to others. Just 4 months ago I guess)

So I googled

And I found Head-Fi...

Now I find myself gotten much older, always upset and easily to get angry with people since my mind is now all about financing my hobby (or my biggest mistake?)

It is a balanced setup. I got some of it used. And its more than $1000 by about 150?

New, the cost of the needed components would be as follows:

LD DAC - 260+ship, LD AMP 380+ship, Cables - ~50, HD600 ~300.

Be happy - your list doesnt include 13 pairs of headphones and 5 amps. I just sold a heap of gear to refocus on getting the 'end game' rig - anyone who doesnt have to go through that cycle is ahead in my book, the caveat being that I did get a taste of different sound sigs. Its one thing for people to tell you Grado (or Senn/Beyer/whatever) is as good as it gets, another to internalise that. Good luck with the new gear.
