Guys make sure you are running the very latest graphics drivers for one (also dont expect high res if you're running an nvidia 6200 or something like that).

Also, there has been a fixed exe released to fix the problems on xp x64 and server 2k3, dl here:

Don't worry, only a ~10mb download.

I was also toying at the idea of buying an Ageia PhysX card since UT3 supports it. What do you guys think?

I guess it all depends on how well the game performs on my current rig.

Firstly, do not waste money going SLI with an older card - an 8800 GTS 320MB would be a much better investment.

Secondly, I wouldn't buy a PhysX card because it's dead in the water. There are very few games that support it - Instead, put that money towards a better graphics card.

It's pretty good for sure, very UT. I do feel as though they've upped the speed, though that may be because I've been playing CS and Halo recently.

The game is UT, slightly different feel than UT and UT2004, but incredible polish as usual.

800meg demo too, which means the textures are nowhere close to full RES in the demo. Expect even more beauty in the retail version.

Same with me, it's stuck at 800x600 when I want to use 1680x1050!!!

The game will change the monitor to the specified resolution, stay black for a while and then switch back to 800x600 and editing the .ini files does nothing. bleh

Seconded. The GTS 320 is an excellent card.

Umm, what video card are you guys using? Resolution changes fine for me. Also the ini files are not in the game directory as they have been in the past. The ini files in there are just defaults and changing them will not make any difference in the game. The ones that actually control the game are under My Documents --> My Games --> UT3 --> UTGame ---> Config.

I found the problem on my copy of UT3, it has nothing to do with the graphics drivers. There is a setting in the graphics menu for how much percentage of the screen size to render, and it had defaulted to 50% on my install. I pushed it over to 100% (and bumped up the other graphics sliders) and it works perfectly now at 1280x1024. It seems a little slower paced than UT2004, but still pretty fun. I miss the Assault and Onslaught modes though...

Oh yeah, a bunch of people were complaining that the scaling came set to 50% after the install. Not sure why, it didn't do that for me. You mean the overall gamespeed is slower or the FPS? FPS is to be expected

Assault and onslaught are not gone, they did not include all the gametypes in the demo. There is a new gametype called Warfare that replaces AS, ONS, and the other missing ones. Basically it can play however the map designer makes the map, in other words there can be maps that play like onslaught, or ones like AS, and so on. It is very streamlined.

They might be releasing a patch later on to include a warfare map in the demo, but the reason they didn't is because in the UT2004 demo they included to much stuff and now 80% of the people playing UT2004 are playing the demo because they don't bother to buy the full game because the demo already has plenty of content

I sure hope the internet play improves... because I can't connect to 90% of servers on the list, and those that I can get on have crippling amounts of lag.
