I have been reading up and the options are mind spinning. I want to get a new DVD player for music and movies to feed into my new Sony 1000ES reciever.
I was looking at the Pioneer 45a then the 563a then some Sony ones.
What are some good options?

I am personally holding out for the new toshiba 4960. I have read too many mixed reviews on the pioneer so I am hoping that the 4960 will perform better.

Best Buy, at least my local one, is clearing the Pioneer out at $141.00. So maybe a replacement model will be out soon. After all, the 563A has been on the market close to a year by now.

I picked up the 563 fro Best Buy for $139 and it really did not blow me away. I have a normal TV and the picture looked as good as my old Sony DVP-S330 and it sounded about the same too.
So what am I supose to be looking for as far as criteria. I feal like I can't even tell the diffrence.
Help please.

You really can't tell anything from specs. What you're looking for here in this thread is the best info you'll get
