The MEST MKIII is Now Available Without the Stock Cable

We have received mixed feedback about the MEST MKIII’s stock cable since it was released. Although the stock PWAudio cable offers excellent synergy with MKIII, it might be stiffer than some customers prefer. So now we are offering the cableless version of the MEST MKIII, starting at $1599!

We also did some cable rolling tests on the MEST MKIII, and we found a few value cables from other manufacturers that offer great synergy with the MEST MKIII. We’d love to provide customers with bundle deals on the MEST MKIII and those cables. Here is a reference to the cables that we tested that pair fantastically with the MEST MKIII:

  1. Liquid Links West Lake, MSRP $299: West Lake offers a decent amount of mid-bass punch and lower-mid warmth. It brings the vocal close to the audience and has a relatively smooth and dark signature.

Timbre: Neutral-Warm
Highlights: Punchy mid-bass, Forward vocal, Smooth treble.

  1. Liquid Links Martini, MSRP $349: Martini has a more expanded sound than its brother, West Lake. It offers a solid sub-bass and adds some lovely sparkles to the treble. The Martini also helps the MEST MKIII stretch its soundstage to the next level.

Timbre: Neutral-Warm
Highlights: Solid sub-bass rumbles, Precise treble texture, Large soundstage.

  1. Effect Audio Eros S MSRP $299: If you like a linear sound from the MEST MKIII, then Eros S is the cable for you. It makes the MKIII sound very neutral and unbiased. Signature wise, it is closer to the MKIII stock cable than the other two alternatives.

Timbre: Neutral
Highlights: Perfect linearity, Neutral timbre, Great build quality.

  1. PWAudio/UM Stock Cable: The stock PWAudio cable offers superb resolution and details. The separation and imaging from the stock combo are extremely precise, and the sound is crystal clear.

Although I'm not in for the MEST I absolutely applaud the option of buying an IEM without the cable, simply because I haven't found a single instance where the stock cable was the one I would want to end up with. For me, an IEM developer should leave it at exactly that, and leave any fine tuning of the chain to the customer. I always felt being forced to buy a certain cable and then having to throw it away and buy a different one was like a slap in the face. We're talking about high end audio here where people spend their shirt to make it sound like they want. It's like being forced to buy a caravan with your Ferrari: Exactly nobody wants it. <end of rant> 😁

Can't wait. Is this must be better than the earlier versions. Or are they ?

Put an order in. I have a Liquid Links Venom that will pair nicely. :)
