I agree with everything u just said. I’ve owned the mentor, indigo, Mest MKIII, and still own the Mest MKII. I am not listening to my Raven at all anymore and may put it up for sale and just roll with my 2 UM’s. I love what bone conduction does to the soundstage but bc the tuning is so great with these and it still has good soundstage it’s an easy recommendation and I agree with @Visceral that is the best I’ve heard under $2k and right now it’s under $1.5k.
But how is the bass?

Twister6 review says the Mest MK2 bass has more kick and rumble than Maven 2 bass. I had the Mest MK2, and for me its bass was anemic, it had not kick or rumble at all. It was fast, with texture, but it lacks power and slam.

If the Maven 2 bass is below Mest MK2 bass, then I will know it is not for me at all.

From what I read on Alex's review, it is a low DD that focuses more on the quality aspect than the quantity aspect. In my opinion it is the best choice. I say this as an owner of Noble Ragnar (2 DD) which also focuses almost exclusively more on quality than quantity.

Yeah, but I would like to know about quantity too, because I need some quantity too to like it. And Mest MK2 had not enough bass quantity for me (quality yes, but not quantity).
And I am not basshead at all  I like U4s with M12 and I don't like it with M15, for example.

There’s your answer.

I don't know.....also because I like the opposite . Little quantity , lots of quality . As long as it is a tight, controlled and very fast bass.
It has to be : BOM
and not BOOOOM
😊

I can’t imagine you wouldn’t like this then. I haven’t ever been listening and said “oh this really needs more bass”. It’s just well done.

It depends on the music. There is music than has to be BOOOOM and with the Mest it was BOM. And that is not good.
I don't want my IEM to exaggerate the bass, but I don't want it to hide it either. And the Mest hid them.

I listen to metal as u do and never had issues with the bass on the Mest MK2’s or the Maven II. So, I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for lol.

I wanted to know if the Maven 2 (or maybe just the Mest MK3) could be an option for a warmer Mest MK2, with more bass presence and somewhat less treble, but just as good technically.

I have some good memories of the Mest MK2, but its lack of weight in the bass, and inconsistent tuning due to the excessive weight of the treble in it, were what made me sell it at the time.

But it seems it is not going to be that option 😅

I wouldn’t describe the Maven II as warmer than the Mest Mk2. It’s certainly not going to be warmer than the MK3. To me it’s cleaner sounding in all categories (bass mids and treble). If the MK3 is anything like the indigo which I have a feeling it is, it wasn’t enough sparkle for me. I like treble esp in metal. I like to hear all the intricate cymbal work etc. I felt the indigo lacked that clarity for me.

I´m deciding to buy EE Raven (because Odin has peak on higher middle) as my end-game IEM... :L3000:
According what you wrote, Raven is no good as Maven II? :scream:

It’s differently tuned. Raven has a larger depth of soundstage and more extended treble. Raven also has certain peaks for me as well. I’ve heard Odin is worse however. I believe that Maven maybe a better all arounder for me as it is inoffensive with excellent tuning imo.

I've likewise been listening to the Maven II for about 3 weeks and I can confidently say its my current Pause-game/daily driver. I mostly listen to EDM, where I value a rumbly but quality sub bass response while maintaining clarity in the treble. My previous Daily driver was the Noble Spartacus (same price as the Maven II), which brought a lively sound and pretty spectacular BA Bass when listening to EDM, but I had an itch to scratch from the people who would claim "it's still BA bass", implying DD bass is superior. Shoutout to @vikinguy whom also has the Spartacus and Maven II and recommended the Maven as a better overall IEM. My ears definitely agree with his, the Maven II is quite amazing for the price, and while I never put much stock in soundstage in IEM's, the Maven's soundstage pretty much blew me away. The Maven's sub bass response compared to the Spartacus definitely has more quantity, while still maintaining the speed and quality that the Spartacus spoiled me with. Mids and treble along with the soundstage that envelopes them, also stands out in the Maven II versus the Spartacus. The Maven II just seems like it can handle all genres very well, I can say its easily worth the price if not more.

Just as a side note in regard to the current bass quality discussion preceding this. I used to have the MEST mk2 and found that my $200 IKKO oh10 had more rumble, although not as much quality. This made me upgrade to the Spartacus, which to my ears easily had better bass rumble and quality then the MEST mk2 (since sold but still a great IEM). I also found that the Spartacus had a better bass response then the UM MEXT as well, which graphs with more bass than the MEST mk2. Since the Maven II has slightly better bass quantity than the Spartacus, which had better bass quantity than the MEST mk2, to my ears, the Maven II has a better bass quantity than the MEST mk2. Sample size of 1 lol.

Thank you very much for this 😄

#69 in house 😅. Incredible unit with impressive dynamics, detail and decay. Still early, but loving what I hear so far.
