I'm really close to pulling the trigger, but I just wanna make sure I know what I'm buying. I enjoy a good boom in my bass for rap songs, but also enjoy hearing every detail of a rock song. From the guitars, to the back up vocals in those subtle moments, to the bass line. So I guess a good compromise would be ideal? I'd be mainly using my macbook and Mytouch 4g for music. Not really interested in portable amps either.

I'm also looking for a set that are fairly portable and have good isolation. I need isolation, because of the noise from my neighbors who enjoy partying all day, walking around downtown campus, being at the gym, and at the library. Going through ljokerl shootout list, I came across two that peaked my interest. Though that doesn't mean your suggestions aren't welcome!

Ultrasone HFI-450
Sony MDR-V6
Numark Phx Pro

So yeah, from those two, or anything else you guys can mention...what would be a good set to buy? I've been reading threads for about 5 days now, and this is what I've narrowed it down too. Though I was curious as to why the list did not contain any "Shure" headphones as well. Guess they aren't that good?

Example songs I'd listen too:

1. Bad Meets Evil - Fast Lane (punchy bass) = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqCSLJD0AgQ  But I also like hearing the background vocal with his monotonous voice xD.
2. Acceptance - So Contagious (hearing every aspect of the song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxrc99S09wI

The Sony V6 is now $130, but the Sony 7506 which is almost the same as the V6 is around $100 now.

The V6 was $65 just a few months ago.
