umm. What a hurricane in South Dakota? Anyone live there?

after more reading, it's just a cyclone, but damn neat either way. Really well defined.

the sat pictures reminded me of "the day after tomorrow" aka "stand back, i'm a paleoclimatologist!"

Its a mid-latitude cyclone not interacting w/ other pressure systems and part of a mesoscale convective system. Most weather in the US is cyclonic but its quite different from a hurricane.
