Hi has anyone tried this combo, looking at getting some UM3x or livewires/fidelity. All help gratefully received.

Go with the UM3X. The sound is really sensational. It's a very balanced, neutral, accurate and detailed IEM.

It depends how upfront you like your vocals!

The UM3X is very intimate. If the SE530 is like sitting at the back of a concert hall, and the Triple Fi 10 is like sitting 10 rows from the front, the UM3X is like sitting in front row. It's like being in the studio with the musicians. Some don't take well to this level of intimacy. I've read threads where people felt like the lead singer was singing in their lap. I, on the other hand, am a Grado lover. I get off on that upfront sound. I like feeling connected to my music. I like feeling like I'm there. Some people want a little more space. One way to look at this is to ask yourself where you sit when you go to the movies. If you sit in the back, buy SE530. If you sit in the middle, the Triple Fi 10 may be more to your liking. If, on the other hand, you sit closer to the front, close enough that most of your peripheral vision is covered by screen (first third of the theater), the UM3X is where it's at.
