Hi guys,

i need help with a problem on the UM1's rubber part, the wire restrainer.(I dunno if it's called that)

Less than 1 year of use, it has become very yellowish and also the rubber part furthest away from the earbud is slowly splitting up one by one (the flexible notches)

as for the yellowing, i tried mild detergent, and hydrogen peroxide as suggested in other threads. No help at all..

Is there any way i could solve this problem?
Ive attached a pic of it, its much yellower than whats in the pic by now, and the splitting rubber notches is getting worse altho i treat it with extreme delicate care..

Same here. Mine's starting to get yellow after 3 weeks of use.

does the rubber part of your UM1 start to split one after another?

nope they don't, just yellow. i guess it's natural.

keep this in mind if you are thinking about clear custom sleeves =)

that's my UM1. You mean the yellow part is disintegrating??

btw, if you're thinking of bringing the thing down to jaben...I left my UM2 with him (i screwed up the filters) in the 2nd wk of Jan and still no news of it yet.

yea its becoming snapping/splitting part by part, and i don't know whether to keep using them or not..

i don't think its covered under warranty as I've emailed Doug before.
anyone has any suggestion what i should do?
