All the cord above the splitter on my um1's have little white lines on it. About every 1.5 inches, theres a line, and I can't tell if its exposed wire, or if this is the way its supposed to be. Anyone know? Sorry for grammar and no pics, I'm in a rush. Thanks

Those little white lines every few inches about 3 mms long right? Those are markings on one of the 3 wires that makes up the braided wire of the UM1, so those are pretty normal, seems to be the 2nd Gen UM1 wire as far as I know of.

Anyone else to confirm this?

oh, THANK GOD. I didnt't realize they were there when I first used them, thats why I got a little worried. In the first post I was rushed because I was on my way to see The Departed. Maybe this was mentioned, but did anybody else spot the Senns in the movie? I believe they were HD280s, but I only got a glimpse. Anyway, thanks for the info on the um1 cord, i had myself worried.

EDIT: After searching, I see The Departed senns were spotted already.

those white lines are negative signs. they indicate which wire is the negative one.

Bad thing is if you try rub them they would come off quite easily
