Hi! I am currently a happy Ultrasone HFI-780 user. I really love how allround they are; from home movie watching to on the go music listening. However, I have two issues with them:
 

• They don't isolate well at all. When I use them on the go, all of its bass qualities are lost to outside noises and I don't feel "intimate" with my music at all.
• They might look good in a club or when you are 14 years old, but I wouldn't call them "classy" or "understated".

 
This is why I'm looking to replace them. I know the AKG K550 will solve the second issue, but will they solve the first one as well? How is isolation?
 
What I am also curious of is their bass. I'm a moderate basshead; I like some punch (midbass). Bass extension (low bass) is far less important to me. The HFI-780 deliver very well in this regard, but how does the AKG K550 fare?

I've used them in a noisy classroom and had no problems with isolation. The bass quite apparent in both regions without being bloated, though many have said that without a proper seal on the head, the bass is thin. I haven't had this problem.
