now, i've done my research. i've heard a pair of shure 750dj's...not sure how i felt about them...dont think they were what i'm looking for. what i've read about the ath-m50's suggests they have less accurate bass so i'm not really lookin at those. the hfi-780's are cheaper right now but i read they have less but more accurate bass. what i'm lookin for is a balance between bass quantity and quality (ok maybe a little more quantity than quality
), and something thats somewhat opposite of my grado 325is...ya know...more portable, closed, more bass. love those things but they arent leaving my desk. and please dont suggest sony xb500 or xb700...i've seen their response curve, or should i say response cliff.
so unless someone has a legitimate reason why i should consider another pair of headphones i'm kind of set on buying these if/when they come back down in price.
first question:
So i was set on getting a pair of the ultrasone hfi-580's about a week ago and they were $125. Now i can't find them anywhere for less than $170. is there a reason for this? Most of the reason i was set on these was because they have good reviews, especially for that price. anyone know if they're gonna come back down?
second question:
nobody seems to be selling 580's or 780's (unmodded)...does this mean they're good enough that people dont want to get rid of them? or that nobody owns them to begin with?
