these are all 10-20 bucks, which 1 is good. It is for occasional backyard sharing of tunes, so, no, I don't wan to use my airhead.

Radioshack sells a metal adapter similar in quality to the Audioquest one. Theirs is around $6.

Thank you all. I went with ultralink after a bad review or 2 on the monster. It was from ultralink's midgrade line. I will look at mono in the future.
