Hi,
I posted this query in some of the audio newsgroups, and mention was made in a couple of the replies (inc. one from Jude!) about this forum, so I hope you don't mind me posting it here as well to get as wide a range of opinions as possible:-
I presently own a pair of Sennheiser HD580 headphones which I am very happy
with, but, although mindful of the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' maxim, I
can't help wondering if even better performance is possible.
So, what would your recommendations be for the single 'best' (i.e. most
uncoloured/neutral/accurate) dynamic headphone from each of the quality
manufacturers to be put on a shortlist of 'ultimate dynamic headphones' to
audition?
I have, perhaps predictably, already started the list with the Sennheiser
HD600 (I have noticed that some people still prefer the HD580 though), but
what about the competition?
FWIW, I have tried the Grado SR60 and 225 and did not like either of them;
both from a sound quality and comfort point of view.
Finally, for the ultimate in accuracy, should I really be looking at
electrostatic headphones?
Thanks in advance.
