Hi. I'm about to delve into the world of making my own interconnects - First off I'm going to try both solid and stranded core Cat6 network cables, but I'd also like to try other coaxial cables and possibly even braids. The problem is, I don't know any sources here in the UK to buy decent wire to use at sane prices. Does any one have any wire recommendations and sources to buy it from?

Hi GM,

Yes, I've just used 1.5mm 3:1 heatshrink and then twisted them together and then added another heatshrink layer on top.
I've only needed short IC's till now and they've been great.
I really like one I did with gold-plated, high purity silver wire.
..... I've also made them from cheap, pvc, stranded hook-up wire twisted together

Others use Cat5 ......

For short lengths, twisted pairs are fine.

I recently got 100' of cable from Navships on ebay, his store can be found here:

eBay My World - navships

He'll post any amount of wire to the UK for $11, it only took 6 days to reach me.
