okay, so the rockboxed ipod is nice. except for one thing. my battery.
i can fully charge it and after it being fully charged, when i play it, the battery shows 16 hours, then 10, then 1, then after about 15 minutes of playing, it completely dies. what's up with that?
i've tried all i know i can, re-charge, but it does the same thing. please tell me this is fixable.

How old is the iPod? Might just need a new battery.

What size file are you using? ALAC/FLAC require the HD to be used more often and reduce battery life. AFAIK even Apple posts lower battery life figures with the use of ALAC.

Really it should last at least 8-10 hours. My old, very abused 5g, still lasts 4 hours with heavy use.

Something is definitely wrong!
I know Rockbox is pretty bad in power consumption, compared to the original Apple firmware, but 15 minutes is way to short.

Perhaps you could try a different Rockbox build? Either from another date, or another builder.

The experience I've had with Rockbox in the past is that no matter what it's going to kill your battery life, but uh... yeah try a different build.

My only suggestion that I can think of is to take it off, plug it up to iTunes fill it up, then take it off, and then reinstall rockbox. Oh, there is a battery option in rockbox for the 5g...make sure it's at the right one, depending on size I think one is 400 and the other 800.

different build? I though there's only one for the iPod 5 gen.

Rockbox builds are built on a more-or-less daily basis, with current checkins all day long. Hence its highly possible that bugs appear i one build, and fixed in another one.
There are also unofficial builders, who release their own builds.
