UE3s sound too thin for me, any suggestions?

I would go with something dynamic, like the Sennheiser IE series or the Monster Turbine.

As much as I like my Super.fi 3, I do find it somewhat lacking in both bass and treble. Does that make me a basshead and a detail freak?

If u have no problem with the ue3 bass then go for shure 310
Extremely full bodied with forward mids ...People say there is no treble extension..I find that it makes all the shures smoother and full sounding
Best of luck for the Upgrade

Well, I upgraded form the 3's to the 5 pro, and they sound much fuller. There is more bass, and also much more mid-bass (even a bit too much for my taste, so I reduce the frequency around 220hz a bit).

warm. very warm. very detailed, but treble is rolled off, bass and mids kinda overshadow it.

You can maybe try the Westone UM2?

I move from the SF5pro and found it a significant upgrade though I haven't heard the UE5 Pros but if they are anything similar to SF5 Pro then I'd say give it a go.

The Super-Fi 5 Pro looks like the driver configuration used in the custom UE4.
