Hey guys,
I've asked a question like this before so just bear with me
wink.gif

I have around $1200 to spend and I need a portable setup, as I already have a k701 home setup. I'm almost positive that i'm going to go with UE11's, but if I do, thats all i'm getting. I already have an ipod shuffle so i'll have the ue11 and that but would a different setup like shures/imod/amp be better? or should I just get the ue11's and upgrade the other components later.

thanks

Definitely the UE-11s, it will sound better than the SE530+amp combo even straight out of the shuffle. Get the best transducer first, then think about upgrading amp/source etc.

The good thing about UE-11s is that they sound great unamped, you really don't feel like you're missing something.

I agree with the comments above! UE11 is an amazing set of phones.

Yea, I don't use an amp at all with the UE-11's and they still outperform my headphones. lol

UE11 is a great set. But Shuffer is definitely not well-matched with this almighty IEMs. I attribute the reason to the machine's lean sq and perceptible electricity hum。They can be also magnified by a amp.

IMODDED products with capacitors and renowned small amps would be a much better choice although it is bit exorbitant.

However, UE11 isn't so suprising by giving a better performance than k701s system does.

More, UE11 = SE530+ good amp + good source + good cable. Go to the right side of the equation if looking for more fun(the sq is good too) or go to UE11 for impressing sq

PS: EM3 pro is also a fantastic Customed IEMs. Its super-treble and sound stage are flawless in my point of view.
thats another informed desicion made for purchasing.

Or maybe you should go with the new japanese custom 5-driver, 4-way IEM?

thats impossible, you can get your earmonitors less a month if lucky. the fastest way is going to their store and making ear mold there. it could, for sure, save some time. Good luck

I paid for their quickest turn around and had them in less than a week.

Good Luck!

The UE11 sounds decent coming from my iPhone headphone jack other than the hissing. But given the ability of the UE11 to handle anything you throw at it, powering the UE11 with a great amp will truly unleash its true potential!
