I was looking for a nicer set of IEMs with iPhone controls. I was looking at getting the UE 900s or the Fidue A83 (+ new cable).

Always concerned about durability on UE and concerned about buying from a Asian manufacturer.

Curious about thoughts from the fellow Head-Fiers. I know I might get the 'Are you kidding? These are two VERY different IEMs!'

Or wait for the http://www.rha-audio.com/uk/t10i.html Those look right up my alley albeit in a different price range.

I own both Fidue A83 is superior, not just a little either. You're on the right track looking at Fidue A83 as it became my new reference hybrid for comparison about a month ago. I've already said it in the A83 thread UE900 is no match for A83,

Highly recommend you take the Fidue route on this occasion.

I would like some iPhone controls. Recommendation on cables?

Have a good look here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XShure+cable&_nkw=Shure+cable&_sacat=0

But please if you're going to purchase an A83 make sure the cable is of decent quality. The reason I say this is because many of the mic cables on eBay are quite cheap, A83 really deserve something they can benefit from, something cheap will detract from their potential. They already come stock with a silver plated cable so keep that in mind.

Something like this is an example to use.

Would this be adequate?

Sure, I imagine A83 will look quite appealing with their deep red / blue shells along side that cable.

Just wanted to make that Logitech cable was good. Still a tad hesitant with products from Asia. I just got back something I sent in over 11 months ago!

I understand, you'll be fine with a company like Fidue.

Ordered the Fidue A83s. Amazon says they will be here on Monday. Not sure how, but I won't argue. Really looking forward to them. Thanks for the help.

Now to order some Comply tips and the iPhone control cable.

Hello, I am in a similar dilemma as you.

How are the A83's treating you? Did it take long for you to receive them and is the remote aftermarket cable of usable quality? Were they exactly what you were looking for?

I like them a lot. I got them quickly from Amazon and the Logitech Ultimate Ears replacement cable has been great as well. Been using them nearly daily since early November and quite happy. Somehow I always get into a discussion with someone about how good the new Apple earbuds are....then I break out the A83s. Spending nearly $400 on buds, cable and tips usually makes them question my sanity, but I am very happy. Spend a little time explaining the 3 drivers, the warmth, etc and they take a listen on their device with their favorite song(s) and then realize they have been listening to a couple of tin cans.
