Hi guys,

I'm looking to order a pair of Ultimate Ears today and after reading some various threads about these 2, I was hoping to get a recommendation.

About me: I would say I'm *not* an audiophile. I care more about sound preference than sound "technical correct neutrality". I like bass. My last pair of IEMs were the Sensaphonic 2's, which I picked up a couple years ago. I normally use them straight in to either my iPhone or Computer. When I'm at my computer, I plug them in to an old THX computer speaker system that uses it's amp to drive the heaphones, which sounds wonderful. It gives more power and a more unique bass response. I do use lossless music, but I'm not sure I'd totally be noticing differences between that and say 256k.

So I've heard most people's problems with the 11's is that they're too bass heavy. So I'm wondering if I would like these better than the 18's? Or is the superior *technical* sound quality of the 18's just blow the 11's out of the water, and then if I needed I could rely on EQ & amp for more bass? Or is the 18's bass response just great and I'm worrying for nothing? I wasn't *thrilled* with the bass response of my Sensaphonics, but I'm sure that has more to do with them being inferior IEMs.

I'm not worried about the cost difference, I'm purely trying to decide on which I think will sound better and last longer.

One final note, is that I've read that the cable on the 18's is quite a bit better than the 11's. Could someone explain this? Does it not get as tangled / curled up? If so, that might be worth the choice for me as I use them every day and store them coiled up (correctly).

I think if you want to get ultimate bass experience without loosing any details then JH16Pro are the perfect candidate for this purpose. UE11Pro also are very bass heavy and they put out lots of details in mids and highs. These two has same price tag and JH16Pro not only give you extra bass and it shows more details than UE11Pro(bass maybe similar on both IEMs). As far UE18Pro goes it's bass maybe same as JH13Pro and these two are more neutral in their sound signature with no emphasis on bass. So if you want fun exciting sound then UE11Pro are great choice and if you want fun exciting sound with lots of details then JH16Pro are the best.
