Hey all,

I was just looking for any opinions regarding the sound of these two compared to each other? I saw a quick review on the udac thread but it wasn't too indepth.

Any thoughts would definitely be appreciated.

In terms of specs:

EMU 0404: async 24/96 by USB, powered by PSU (improves with linear one), recording capabilities (vinyl transfers, etc), sensitive to USB bus I/O

uDAC: only 16/44 by USB, powered by USB, better headamp, possibly better DAC, small/portable

I don't think uDAC can be an improvement over EMU as a DAC, likely just a sidegrade with different features. As a DAC/amp combo, EMU is greatly handicapped with its subpar headamp.
