I really thought about it, I've been watching this thread since it began, but I thought that the meets up here should have a bit of variety so that folks at the San Jose meet were getting a different experience than those at the Berkely meet. Since a number of people are doing both it seemed like it was the smart and considerate thing for me to do. Mix things up a little to make it more interesting for everyone.

hehe, maybe I shouldn't go to the San Jose meet then to further make things more unique.

but really, I don't know if I can make it since I am returning from japan on the 12th and the San Jose meet is the next day... but I will do my best to accomodate that since I'm sure a lot will want to listen to my headphones.

I can make it if the meet's on May 22.

I will make it if a Corda PreHead shows up or anyone wants to hear something I have. The only uniqueish bits I have are AKG K340 cans, XM Radio and a theremin - though I do have a few lower end cans that a newbie might want to hear.

If I need to be booted that's fine, but if I later hear a PreHead is coming, I'd probably swing by and crash for a bit

Gear:

Cans:
Senn PX200
Koss KSC-35
AKG K501
AKG K340

Amps:
TAH 2AA (woohoo!)

Sources:
Delphi Roady XM Reciever
Sony D-25s PCDP (woohoo again)

Other:
Pink Floyd X-Feed (Mk III I believe)
.3M Magwire Nakeds
Vampire RCA splitters
Theremin

Oh, I'd also bring my laptop if anyone could scrounge up an Indigo soundcard.

so how about we do a small meet on the 22nd of may and another one sometime in june or july? I'll be bored by then since school will be out and wouldn't mind multiple meets at all.

I will bring my Corda HA-2, which sounds nearly identical to the Prehead (I could rarely discern any difference between the two, and even then singling out one or the other was nigh impossible). I am curious about the K340 and would love to hear it, especially with the Corda (which has a special synergy with most Beyer and Senn cans, IMO). Hope to see you guys there!

I can't make it to the May 22 meet, but probably will be available for the June/July one.

Is there even a meet on the 22nd of may? I haven't seen much interest in one and I am fine either way... quite busy with finals to be worrying about that anyways.

but if anyone wants one, I will see what I can schedule and we can go from there. post here or contact me in some way and we can have a small meet at my place.

btw, I will get the PS-1 on Tues or Wed of next week so if all works out as planned, I can have them for a meet on the 22nd of May.

oh, and I have seating for 10+ people at my place (various couches, computer chairs, recliners...) but I don't know if there are enough tables, countertops, and whatever else can be used to rest the equipment on... so if anyone has a few folding tables or something to bring along that would be great. there is plenty of room here for extra tables.

I don't know about refreshments, but I have a few bottles of soda handy... if there are other things you guys want speak up and we'll see what we can do.

if there is anything I forgot, just mention it.

If anyone can bring some spare Sennheiser cables I'd really appreciate it. I recently sold my Zu Mobius and my Oehlbach hasn't arrived yet (and won't arrive in time for this meet). I have an orphaned HD580 - it needs some cable love! Any cables will do (stock, Clou, Cardas - anything). If you can help, please let me know. Thank you.

Neil,

Hopefully, someone will bring something better, but for now, I did find my stock cable for the Senns.

If I'm not signing my lease I have a card table I can bring, along with powerstrips etc. But I'd need someone to give me a lift to haul it to the other side of campus. Even if I can't make it and you guys are hard up for tables, we can make arrangments for someone to pick it up.

Oh, Neil (and anyone else who is curious), as I told Alex in a PM, I may not be able to make it if I end up having to sign my lease that day (the management co. is in Albany). However, I'd like to swing by, meet some Head-Fiers and let you listen to my K340.

I will be happy to look after any equipment that anyone wants to lend me for the meet if they cannot make it, but I will be leaving Berkeley the day after the meet so anything I borrow will have to be picked up soon after.

the power in the apartment seems decent (at least enough that I don't see much improvement when I started using my P300 power plant) but more power related components are always a plus.

as for a table, utep10 is bringing over a relatively large one and there are (I think) enough tables and the like around the apartment to hold the equipment but more is never a bad thing.

come to think of it, there is room for one or two more 5 foot or so long collapsible tables so why not bring some along if you have any? I don't know if we need them (and they will make the available space smaller which isn't good...) but we can always stow them away if they are not needed. I have enough seating but some are somewhat hard to move around so if there are extra folding chairs available those will be useful too.

oh, please look over the equipment list to see if I left anything out. I would like to know what there is to listen to beforehand so I can plan accordingly.
