I recently purchased Fi 5's on Ebay for $190 with shipping. I still haven't received them, but I'm already having regrets about my purchase.

How highly do you guys rate the Super Fi 5's?!
Should I return them and buy something else?

I prefer IEMS or Closed Headphones.
my budget is $200

use: mostly on the go, Ipod.

For that price, you should probably try to return them if you can.

I feel like an idiot now

But yeah I won't open them up.

The X10's look good, but they do not come cheap!

I want to buy closed headphones
I was looking at Denon 1001/2000, Beyer DT 770/880, ATH ES7

I listen to mostly rock, trance, and chill out (Moby, Portishead, etc)

Amazon.com: Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro Earphones (Black): Your Store

These are the same ones I bought on Ebay.

Why do you think I paid too much? Are they not worth it?

Just see them floating around in the $150-175 range a whole lot. You should feel free to try them, let your ears decide what you really want!

I got my for $160 on amazon a while back. No regrets. I really love it. Everything is clear/transparent, highs and mids are pretty crisp, bass... is really good. Is tight and pronounced.

Ya, I had the EBs and I loved them, I believe they are extremely underrated. Too bad I can never get a good seal with UEs.

I sold my super.fi 5 pro to buy the Phonak, still no regret.

Can I ask why you didnt research them before buying them?

Besides, you dont even have them yet. You may get them and LOVE them!

$190? It's not BAD but you could've gotten then just a bit cheaper at $150-170. I love mine. I listen to rock, epic orchestral, electronic (trance, d n' b, house, etc...), World, so on and so forth. It is a great IEM and isn't shy on the bass.

The only upgrade I've considered after that is the UE-11.

They are still good IEMs, but a lot of competition at similar or lower price points have launched recently (PFEs, Monster Turbines, even Yuin earbuds and some lower-cost IEMs). That said, they are still good (good bass, great treble, some reduced midrange, which I adjusted to, and potential fit issues, but not for me), and they have a nice airiness about them. Plus the replaceable cord is important for me.

If you haven't tried IEMs before, they may take some time to get used to, but you have to start somewhere. These are a very good introduction; others lower-priced or higher-priced may be better for you, but only you can tell. I would listen to the UEs, and if you don't like them, try to resell them and go for a different pair.
