I have done audio typing, trust me, it's about 10 times harder than that site. No punctuation makes it a walk in the park.

I thought the test posted by the OP was harder than regular text type tests, because the words are random, so you never know what's coming and the annoying feature that you can only see two lines at a time.

But its not real world typing as you are not typing a sentence, with not capital letters, no comma or full stops. Try both and see for yourself which is harder and what results you can get in each one.

You type 490 characters per minute
You have 88 correct words and
you have 1 wrong words

using 3 fingers and a thumb on my left hand and the index finder on my right hand, the way I normally type.

i am pretty fast, i forget the speed now, t'was years ago when i was tested, however for the last 2 and a half years i have the BF2 keyset fulltime, so i am completely thrown when i visit a standard keyboard and trying to type fast on this thing is not gonna happen!

actually i just banged out this sentence pretty fast!

who here uses those split keyboards - the two halfers!

edit: just took the test;

You type 255 characters per minute
You have 44 correct words and
you have 3 wrong words

I was a little disappointed in myself. I got an average of about 70-75 wpm in both tests. Though I have to say that TypingTest.com was easier with sentences, but not being able to backspace sucks.

You reached 204 points, so you achieved position 78686 on the ranking list

You type 269 characters per minute
You have 46 correct words and
you have 0 wrong words

Much worse than I expected, only did it once.

305 char./min
51 WPM
0 errors

We have some speedy-@ss typers here on head-fi. All those years of instant messaging with far away girls, telling them how tall I was and how big my muscles were, really did my typing some good. Too bad almost everyone here blows me away wiht there typing speed.

435 on QWERTY.
466 on Dvorak. But I switched to it right after doing it with QWERTY, so I think I can raise it after I take a short break.

162 using left-handed Dvorak. Haha... miserable as I thought.

I'm not used to this school keyboard... blech.

Interesting and fun. I did it three times and was pretty consistent.

64 with 2 wrong
63 with 1 wrong
61 with 1 wrong

Sounds about right and good enough for me. Now if only it could teach me to stop making typos in punctuation.
