Hi!

I own a pair of KRK RP5 ROKIT G2 active speakers. They each have a balanced TRS, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA input.

Currently I'm using the TRS inputs for my audio interface but recently a second computer was added to the mix which I would like to plug into the speakers directly through a 3.5mm to stereo cinch adapter.

Can I do so without any interference from the other source or do I have to shut it down with a switch or unplug it? I don't plan to let the sources run simultaneously but would it damage the speakers should this happen accidentally?

Thank you in advance!

Active studio speakers tend not to be mixers, and therefore, won't work well with multiple simultaneous connections.  The multiple connections are to accommodate a variety of source types.  You could get a very, very compact mixer to do this for you, or, some sort of source selector.

Does that answer your question?
