Nice unboxing review, but most importantly what does it sound like???, also is that a 3.5mm pre-out on the back for active speakers???.

The RCA is constant line out socket for any audio device which have volume control! and the 3.5mm is adjustable pre out socket! the output level is depend on the volume control knob!

BTW, I am watching the video now and it is quite slow in china! but it is a great video reiview! can't make that by ourself!

Thanks! Not to spoil the listening review I'm working on, I can tell you that the amp alone is more neutral than it is colored. Resolution is good, but not great. Soundstage is wider than I expected.  Also, it has a surprisingly good tonal balance. When the e7 is docked though, there is more coloration and richness present and I noticed a tad bit of sibilance to some instruments and vocals. This is all without any burn in, mind you. After some real 'sit-down' time with the amp after proper burn in, I can give a more realistic review of it. But, so far, I can tell you that the e9 should have another cult following going for it, considering the sound quality to price point aspect. I'm excited to give it a few rounds with my different cans and sources.

I'll post a full listening review soon!

I await the sound quality review, it would be intresting to know how it sounds with the E7 docked as a dac if it still has the E7's neutral sound, also i would like to know how the pre-outs sound/perform.

Thanks for your initial impressions!

I follow your reviews, and your review of the DT990/600 helped me to make that choice.

So would you say the DT990/600 is properly driven with the E9? Do you notice a lack of anything asides from it sounding a little closed?

Lol, I had to ghetto rig my amps to make my DT990/600 sound good (netbook to E7 to E5... double amping ftw)

I'm hurting for true amping. >__<

Thanks for watching my reviews and glad to hear I influenced your decision on the DT990's! I have a lot of fun doing them

I can tell you that the E9 handles the DT990/600 as well as my Blue Circle amp, and that is definitely saying a lot.

Then I'm definitely getting the E9, no doubt. That's all I can ask for. Since I game with the Mixamp (for Dolby Headphone), I'd be double amping, but from what I have done with the K701 and E7 after the Mixamp, it shouldn't noticeably affect SQ. However, I'm definitely gonna be more than happy to use my DT990s as my main music can off my netbook with the E7/E9 combo.

It's the Hat Peed Thingee, actually. http://www.bluecircle.com/index.php?page_id=9388

I paid a little under $600 for it. Solid amp, extremely neutral and can power all of my cans with authority. I do not have the upgraded power supplies on the unit, but it's plenty.

Thanks Amarbir. I'm hoping to have part 2 of the review up in the upcoming week, so please stay tuned. Your site looks great and it looks like you carry some nice product for Indian consumers. I know it's difficult for the average consumer in India to get audiophile grade equipment, so it's nice to see that you can provide this to your customers!

No doubt Amarbir bought a lot of good stuff here including UM customs, dba 02, re262+602 bundle and much more.
I really appreciate his dedicated efforts
