I was thinking of making something where I can either have my amp plugged in when I am listening to music, but have my headphones ONLY when I play games. I was going to make a box with some starquad going into it and hooking up to a PCB and outputting it into another cable, which would attach to the amp, and a 1/8" jack, which I could plug my headphones into. Is it bad to have two outputs without a switch? If so, does Radioshack carry any descent switches that I could use?

TIA!

...why not just use the amp for music and gaming?

I don't know. I haven't heard of anyone using an amp for gaming. I am going to be using a chaintech av710, which I have heard has a descent dac. I just didn't think an amp for gaming would be that suitable.
