I have tried searching through some threads already and could not find my answer.  I might be over thinking things as well, but is it okay to twist different gauge wires together?
 
I am building a B22 with a E22 backplane and I noticed on some pics that the V+/G/V- and output pad for each channel looks like it was run together with techflex.  I cannot tell if all those wires are twisted together as well.  Here is the pic that I'm referring to.
 

 
In a thread I posted a while back (school has put this project on hold for a while), I was told that I should run power with 18 awg and 24 awg for hookup.  In this instance, the V+/G/V- would be 18 awg and the output 24awg.
 
Let me know the best way to wire that.  Thanks.

That should be no issue, but keep in mind twisting wires can lead to solenoidal EMI.  This is especially so if the cables are not very shielded.  If you are have to save space then twist away, but if you get some unexpected noise you may want to untwist them to check if they are the source.

I've never heard of twisting cables being a cause for EMI.  I'll keep that in mind when working out future kinks in my amp.  Thanks.
