Though I'm very pleased with the performance of my U24, I'm looking for ways to improve the sound without upgrading to higher end source....
Is there any ways to tweak or mod the U24 as to significantly improve its sound?
I found this thread --> http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/t.mpl?f=pcaudio&m=8004
Does it really work?
What's inside the U24:-
CS8420 sample rate converter, from Cirrus Logic
http://www.chipcatalog.com/Cirrus/CS8420.htm
Xilinx Spartan FPGA
This an FPGA, which would contain any logic functions that are not provided by the other chips. It contains thousands of gates and flip flops.
TAS1020 from TI, is the USB controller
http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/productfolde...Number=TAS1020A
AKM AK4524VF is the DAC
http://www.asahi-kasei.co.jp/akm/en/produc...524/ak4524.html
All the caps are surface mount.
Wonder what mod can be done....
