Hi guys,

I have a query and would totally appreciate any kind input to my following question:-

I currently have a ps audio DL III DAC connected with the XLR-outs to a transformer volume control pre-amp. Now, i noticed that the TVC has XLR-outputs and was wondering if it is possible to hook a pair of balanced headphones (hd580 with XLR cable) directly to the preamp XLR out, and use the preamp to control the volume.

Hi,

It depends on the pins but I would assume so. Right now I'm plugging my HD650's into the XLP outputs of a DAC1 which is about the same thing. I'd just be very careful with the output level.
