Hi Folks,
I have a problem with my Micro Seiki direct drive MR-711 Turntable.
I was listening to a cream record and the the speed of the turntable started to gradually slow down until it was barely moving. Of course Ginger Bakers's toms started to get really deep and heavy...
Since then the motor is not getting up to speed on 33 or 45 regardless of the "fine speed tuning dials" position. ???
It seems sometimes I can give it a push and then it maintains a speed.
I have the turntable apart and I have tried spraying contact cleaner in the switches but this has not helped.
Does anyone have any info on what sort of a problem could cause these symptoms?
It's a really lovely old turntable and I really need to have it working smoothly.
If it's a motor issue I would imagine it to be quite difficult to source a replacement.
Cheers in advance for your help,
Ollie
