The HA-1 uses a new production JJ/Tesla 12AU7 and a pair of NOS 7044 tubes. Can I roll in a NOS 12AX7 OR 5751 without damage?

What is the difference between the 12AU7 and 12AX7

I have read these tubes can be substituted on the MG Head.
