Tube test values - (What do they mean?)

What exactly do the values for tubes mean such as: "2 Rectifier tubes tested on a Hickok tester at 51/56 and 55/54 respectively" mean anyways?!? (Specifically the '51/56 and 55/54' values placed on the tubes). TIA.

If I remember correctly, most tube testers measure emission. That might be a measurement for the emission from each of the plates a rectifier tube has. Most tube testers will only basiclly tell you if a tube is functioning or not.

You would need the charts for that particular model to tell if it passes. Each model and brand of tester has it's own scale for measuring. I think the guy is just trying to say it was at the very least tested.

I know a little about tubes but does anyone know a good way of matching sets of small signal transistors?
