I am wondering if there are any quality budget tube amps under $250? Looking to pair with 6XX. I had the cavalli tube amp which I liked, but there were QC issues and I went through 3 of them before selling the last one. Love my Asgard 3, but miss the tube sound sometimes.

Check out the tube head amps on eBay, lots of options.
Not sure what offers the best quality.
Are you looking for a smaller tube headphone amp or more full sized?

Don’t really care. Mostly focused on the quality aspect.

1. Little Dot MkII and MkIII

2. Darkvoice DV336se

3. Stretch another $100 to get the Schiit Valhalla2 and have an amp that can power lower impedance headphones provided the sensitivity is still relatively high (ie newer lower impedance headphones) without as much problem with impedance mismatch as other OTL headphone amps

Schiit Valhalla 2 is now $399 USD:

Maybe you were also leading the OP onto the Schiit Vali 2 for $149, which has 1.5W @ 32 ohms with >5% THD for their Focal Elegia and 400mW @ 300 ohms with >5% THD for their HD6XX. The Darkvoice DV336SE would probably have more micro-details and project emotion better with the HD6XX than the Vali 2, but those two things are probably better heard from the closed-back Elegia anyways. Also, another forum has people talking about using an Western Electric 396A tube with an adapter for the Vali 2 with them “not wanting a better amp”, despite the WE396A tube being expensive:

Yes, that's what "stretch another $100" was for.

No I was just leading him to the Valhalla2, a tube amp, not the Vali2, a hybrid amp.

See...nothing on the Vali.
