I just found out one of the guys I work with has an older pair of SR325's. He says he bought them several years ago, I think they may potentially be Joe Grado's. When was the transition made from sr300 to sr325?

They have black housings, gold letters, and the soft leather headband similar to the HP-1's I listened to at the last meet. The cable is terminated to 1/4" only. Do you know what the drivers and other features I should should look for if these are the rare early 325's made by Joe?

I'll be giving them a listen next week, I might be able to tell by the sound, but I haven't listened to new 325's in several months.

Theres 3 sr325s. The black ones, the silver ones and the gold ones (325i). I dont know for sure if the 325i sound better than the silver 325 but the silver cans sound better than the black ones to me.

they should have purple drivers if they are the old old school ones.
I have a set of each of the three 325's. the most boring is the old school black.

Is there any lettering on the cable? I think I read here where some early 325’s had Joe Grado cables?
