I have the Audiotechnica AT2020 condenser mic which i accidentally bought because the manufacturer has them listed as the same name as the USB version. I also have the Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card in my computer.
First thing is that the microphone did not come with a stand or a cable so i already bought those. So now i feel like returning this and buying the USB version is out of the question.
So now I have figured out that i need to get a preamp that can supply phantom power. OH MAN MY WALLET IS CRYING!
Is this even the correct thing to get in order to hook this up to the sound card? If so can you recommend me any good and CHEAP preamps?
Thanks!
