Yes, thats correct.
The Universal Dock only have an headphone out (amplified and volume controlled), and no line-out. Shame really!

I just bought a ipod dock a few days ago and i noticed that when i directly pluged my ms-1 into the line out on the dock , my ms-1 sounded very loud as like amped. therefore i doubt the line out of ipod is real audio line out. because the audio line out can't drive a eraphone that loud due to its low electric current. confused!

I enjoy using the Klipsch speaker system the I have for my iPod and have noticed that adjusting the volume on my iPod does not change the sound coming out of the Klipsch. I have to use the volume controls on the Klipsch to change the volume.
