I'm having trouble using AACgain. I ripped my CDs using iTunes. In iTunes it says that they are AAC files. But when I open the iTunes folder all the files are MPEG-4. And they wont work with AACgain. What am I doing wrong? Anyone here know?

I downloaded AACgain and renamed it to "mp3gain.exe" and placed it in the mp3gain folder just like instructed. But it still looks for only mp3 files.

AAC files in iTunes are wrapped in MP4. .m4a is fine to use with AACgain. What platform are you on (assume PC because of .exe)?

The instructions on the site read "download AACGain, rename it to "mp3gain.exe", and put it in the MP3Gain folder after installation". What it didn't clarify is that after renaming the AACgain file to mp3gain.exe, the user should replace the existing mp3gain.exe file with the new one. I was just placing it in the folder. Then it hit me that the renamed file should be a "replacement".
