I currently use a SR-225 as the headphone for home rig and now looking for a pair of IEM for portable use
I understand that it's unfair to compare headphone to IEMs, and the two headphones have different characteritics
but I am wondering in gerneral woud the triple fi. beat the SR-225 in terms of of general quality level ??
Anyone have both??

i have grado 125 and started looking for in ear monitors for travelling. ive tried the etymotic er4 and ultimate ears super pro 5 neither of them do the soundstage like i like with grado or the new akg 701 that i purchased and kept. the ety has a sound signature that is very much like grado detailed and precise. the super pro has beter soundstage but not enough detail for me. i am not sure there is an in ear solution that is better than grado or other open headphones. i am waiting for a pair of stax 001 in ear electrostatics to see if that will satisfy my jones for something i can go out in public with and be satisfied with sound. i havent heard triple driver headphone, but my understanding is you will get better soundstage with less accuracy do to crossovers.

If you can, try the triple.fi with a decent amp and LOD. I think you'll be quite pleased.
