I am using mine with the Headstage Lyrix USB dac/amp. With the low gain setting they sound dull and the bass is lacking in most songs. I was feeling with low volume they were quite boring but when i put the volume at about 10.30 they become alive. That is why I tried with high gain setting and they seem another pair of headphones. Lots of details specially at the very high and very low end.
They really sound wonderful, but not out of the ZVM or laptp headphone out. I wish my budget allow to keep them and get a pair of full size cans.
Has anyone notice this gain thing? I thought they would be perfectly driven from any portable using the low gain setting. I cant hear any kind of noise neither.
