I just bought a pair of UM1's and Etymotic triflanges from Earplug super store and when I inserted the triflange into the UM1, I noticed that the Ety triflanges didn't have stems. Is this normal? Aren't they supposed to have stems? It was way too short for me without the stem. Thanks

Well I believe the Etymotic tri-flanges are only meant for Etymotic Research IEMs, so I guess the Westones and Etys don't have similar enough nozzle sizes. Does Westone offer tri-flanges for their IEMs?

Not currently. The ones that Shure makes work great though. If you end up getting two pairs, try the bi-flange mod that is talked about on the forums. I like the way those work !

The ones they ship with the ER-6i's don't have a stalk. BTW the Shure extra extra long stalk ones are now only a little more expensive, around $10 for 3 pairs (last year they were $15/pair).
