Tricord clock 4 is this right?

Not sure were to post this, but more of a chance some one would have gone down this road here.

I had a Tricord Clock 4 with a never connected power supply fitted to my Bluenote Koala CD player about 4 weeks ago. Can't say I like what I hear, it seems bright and forward sounding with a thinning of the sound in general. Has any body else experienced this, as I have only heard real good thing about this mod. I am sending it back to Graham at Tricord next week to have a listen to see what he thinks. The Koala is a very natural analogue sounding CD player, just seems extremely digital now and can only listen to it for a while with out fatigue.

I had this exact same mod on a Music Hall CD25 and it sounded very, very good afterward. I'm not sure what the problem could be as the DAC is now being fed a robust, clean almost jitter-free digital signal. You still have the same analog stage, so....?
