I just got a 24VAC wall-wart from Radio Shack today, and I want to make sure that I got the right voltage for Tangent's kit. Mainly, the current is 1000mA, which seems like an awful lot. I just want to make sure that it is compatible with my PIMETA. Also, will standard 22 gauge solid core hook up wire be sufficient to hook up TREAD with? This is my first venture into power supplies and I want to get it right the first time.

I guess you're just taking 2 from the rated 24V for this supply?

What you need to do is measure the supply's actual output voltage under no load, then put that number into my power supply parameter estimator. I'll bet you'll find that you can easily get 24V DC output from the wall wart + TREAD combo at the relatively low current required by the PIMETA.

Basically, you don't want to drop any more voltage across the TREAD than is necessary, to keep heat down.
