Hi there,
So I've been using a Travagan's Green as a DAC and amp for my Sennheiser HD555's. Playing lossless files such as flac files has sounded quite good. Recently I bought a vintage 1988 Sony Discman D-T4 for $1.50!!! Astonishingly, the D-T4 sound is beyond impressive. It really does better the Travagan's Green in every way. Needless to say this was not at all expected. The technology is 26 years old.
I have another DAC/Amp combo on order and am hoping it will sound as good as the CD player. (an ELE-D02).
Any thoughts here? Is the DAC & amp in that CD player that much superior? Odd.
