Hey guys.

 

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a new set of headphones, but I can't seem to decide. It's my very first pair of quality headphones, so I don't have a background of knowledge to help me.

 

I'll be using this headphone at home and at work. I'll most likely be amping them with AudioQuest's Dragonfly DAC (although that potentially could change).

 

Ultimately, I'm looking for the best audio quality of these two considering that I don't want to spend a fortune on amps. I'll be using Spotify Premium as my music source.

 

FYI: the Denon D5000 is used.

For me Denon D5000 has better sq, awesome sounstage, and you can apply some mods to achieve even better quality(check markl mod)
Plus it' s bigger and more comfortable, ideal for home use. If you want to go portable than p7 is a better choice.

Even though it's used and I won't have a dedicated amp?  I went to the Best Buy near me and heard the P7.  It sounded amazing.  'Just playing devil's advocate.
 
That said, man - everyone seems to love the D5000s!
